Man Utd director Ruben Amorim insists underperforming players may change Sir Jim Ratcliffes thinking after his comments about some of them being overpaid.
Ratcliffe conducted a series of discussions on Monday to address a number of problems at the club, including the recent bad results and achievements on the ball, as well as the terrible enrollment over the last few decades.
Man Utd are currently 14th in the Premier League table after swapping Erik ten Hag for Amorim in November and Ratcliffe called out some players for being overpaid.
Ratcliffe said in an interview on Monday: If you look at the players we are buying this summer, that we didnt buy, were buying Antony, were buying Casemiro, were buying [Andre] Onana, were buying [Rasmus] Hojlund, were buying [Jadon] Sancho. These are all things from the previous, whether we like it or not, weve inherited those issues and have to sort that out.
Some are not good enough and some probably are paid, but for us to die the club that we are fully responsible for, and responsible for, does take time.
When asked about Ratcliffes comments on Wednesday, Amorim said: Everyone is underperforming. Myself and the people. We can often modify that, I include myself in that part of underperforming.
You are talking about people like Casemiro that have won all. We know these players can play so much better, that is the target. He was sincere on that. The target is to change his mind.
A lot of people will say you are not good enough for the club, but my feeling is you can change that with results. In teaching I feel they want this really awful.

On his relationship with Ratcliffe, Amorim added: It has been really good since day one. We are sincere with each other. We have basic, clear and honest meetings.
To grant me help formally is definitely good for a trainer. Since day one I have felt the help of everyone.
And journalist , Jason Burt found Ratcliffes comments very remarkable for a pub landlord as he questioned whether Guy Utd can do the deals for their paid stars.
Harris told Sky Sports Up Pages , podcast: Venues and agents and players arent terrible. Theyll know that theyre no wanted at Manchester United. The major problem is really taking their agreements. Whos going to pay those arrangements?
Jim Ratcliffe can say whatever he wants in terms of getting them out or, you know, them being paid and so-and-so.
But hes got to do the deals to make them walk on. Thats the bottom line. Different leagues out that know the situation, theyll come in small game.
Manchester United has got to take the medicine. Generally, theyre not going to offer higher on these people. You know, its really the position theyre in at the time.
Theyre going to make big losses, and theyre simply going to have to grin and bear it and get on with it.
If theyre going to actually move the club around, some of those people have to be paid off, or they have to get discounts that are more suitable to them to get them out of the team. Thats just the way it is.
And I do think its quite astonishing for a club owner to speak quite so frankly. I welcome it to a degree. I think sometimes youre going to have to call it as it is.
