Is the title race actually over?

It bothers me to think about it, and I feel like I’m in the minority to even consider it. particularly given the media coverage it has practically nailed on. But was Liverpool also blow the league? They appear exhausted[19459004[]. You can only assume that Liverpool will change that game into a dogfight and bring it at

. Perhaps.

plus a few minor wounds thrown in for good measure. With only eight games remaining, there might be a 10-point difference. And Im no liking the look of some of those accessories either. Would Arsenal, however, possess it? At Anfield, they will need to succeed, I believe.

Blame the Liverpool squad, not the manager
Interesting mails this morning that place Slot very much in the position of Damned if you do, Damned if you dont. A warning that Slot was just recently criticized for resting people against Plymouth. He hasn’t rested them much, right now, right?

England are definitely 4 or 5 wins apart from winning the group. If they continue to perform in their current formthey will finish with 92 points, enough to finish in the top ten Premier League seasons. If Arsenal doesn’t develop into a City-like wealthy winning device, they are unlikely to win the league perhaps with a significant drop-off.

It might be worthwhile considering that England are in this place precisely because Slot hasnt rotated. The name might have been much closer if he had done thus. The Premier League title would be a success beyond all aspirations this year. That name only used to be much. You might have to use up more than one prize because Man City is so used to it that it seems you might need more. Liverpool’s club lacks level, according to

. Endo, Jones, Elliot, Nunez, Diaz, Tsimikas, Jota, and more variety from heaven do a task to are great, but never exactly Champions League candidate materials. No one among the pundits predicted that England would win the league. Some people chose not to be in the top 4. May be for praising Gambling for that, instead than denounce because hes Just won the Premier League.

Congratulations Newcastle. In the end, Newcastle were deserving winners in perspective and software, but from an LFC standpoint, all you think about is how terrible horrible your individual players are instead of applauding the opponent. Even good to see some of the smiling eyes in the stands. Before going further,

Slot made some strange decisions in that activity before making any further slating toward the LFC players. The manager didn’t do well considering that they won the league game last month, having watched Jota been so completely unknown against PSG, and then choosing to play the same team and tactics over again for the same result. Not taking any action on their set-pieces to, having had what seemed about 47 thousand warning pictures.

His establishment changes after 50 strange days failed to work because the team was so lopsided every time LFC lost the ball, frequently wasting valuable time on the bench and even wasting yardage in the hunting people ‘ feet. An ailing club was more fatigued by him. I was surprised it wasnt a change at half time, but sometimes i should have been proud as in the next half virtually every change bar Elliot and Chiesa made the side worse. Another option, and the wrong one, was to keep Mo on. The club should be able to win the league title, and 90 points are a possibility, but a 5 win from 9 win-loss is a well-earned low-bar to navigate, which makes the season an epic success. But after that some harsh choices need to be made on the squad.

I don’t believe massive triage is necessary because the starting eleven is acceptable if the club can keep Diaz and Konate. That is a good illustration of how developing a squad can sometimes be done inconsequentially. When youre hunting the final bit of the jigsaw some of the existing pieces can opt to walk away ( and with that pair being tempted away despite a likely league title, several domestic cup wins, and a champions league final appearance, but it not being enough, this should give some of the top four pause for concern about their own sides and expectations for next year, especially those only boasting calendar-year trophies ).

I believe that two months ago, hell decided to stay or leave. Same as VVD. That leaves 9 games for the rest of the squad players to earn a place for next year. Robbo, in my opinion, is successful in that endeavor. After today, Elliot also. Gakpo from his early season exploits. However, Jota and a few others still have a lot of work to do ( even though they were under a different manager and prior to Richard Hughes ‘ hiring ).

Last bit, but as sad as I am about losing a cup final ( any cup final loss is a bitter pill ) I did laugh at the trolls ‘ mental gymnastics in the comments section. When Slot was doing well it showed Klopp was holding the team back, but now when Slot only challenges for the league then hes been over-rated too. Guys, make your minds up, haha.

Given that Klopp had Liverpool with 71 points and a winning league cup final this year, and Slot has the club with 70 and a losing record, it is obvious that the club can continue to succeed despite PSG’s failure to do so ( if they hadn’t already demonstrated this ). on par with the last guy is fair when the squad is identical. However, this fatigue has returned for the second consecutive year, demonstrating that the bench is not sufficient. In addition, if they are hired, expectations must also rise along with them. The club also needs important summer additions.

Last word on Kieran Trippier. a successful player with a successful career. I’m glad to see him having fun. That makes a trophy at every club now, post Spurs. The idea that Arry Kane will be the only player to survive the Lilywhite curse is kept alive by Leverkusen’s return over the weekend with a late winner keeps the dream alive. A deserved result for the most despised of the Spurs alumni, whereas great players like Modric, Bale, Walker, Trippier, and others all enjoyed success.

Those three finals though
Im a big fan of Arne Slot who has shown requisite amounts of organisational and motivational ability. Anyone who would have liked to see how his achievements were underlined by his circumstances ( see the squad Klopp left him ) and his predecessors ( why didn’t Klopp have them at the top of the league )? Trolls will troll, which is absurd.

However last week Slot announced that we faced three finals and it has to be recognised that the team fell short at two of those attempts. Even the infamous Anfield effect did not change the outcome against a capable and dedicated PSG side, despite Southampton being easily defeated. The team was still demoralized and exhausted when they faced Newcastle, perhaps because the same players had played so many games. We needed to rotate more, but the backup players ‘ abilities weren’t of the same caliber.

So overall its not a disaster and I am happy for Newcastle, but I hope Slot can pick the players up for this season and rotate successfully in future.

Missing Salah ]

I wrote last week about how Liverpool might struggle without Salah next year. The man himself did a nice job of giving us a taste of how that might look in the cup final ( and the games against PSG).

To be fair to him though, I dont think he was intentionally going missing to prove my point. He was able to avoid the game because of Newcastle’s simple plan to stop the long ball from the back. He simply didn’t get to play at all, even worse.

Well done Newcastle

As a Dublin-based long-time Liverpool fan who has had the pleasure of many stags in Newcastle, well bloody done Newcastle United. Better team outperformed us and earned a victory, according to

. Although I don’t like the Saudi owners, I do like the manager Howe and the city’s fans.

Overdue, deserved and I can imagine celebrated in MASSIVE style

I hope those fans that do read this are still knee deep at a bar somewhere. It is getting even more embarrassing to be a Spurs fan.

The Audi Cup is the only trophy I’ve ever won. the Audi Cup, for example! Ange needs to go hes done nothing but fail. It’s over for us if we don’t win the Europa League. Our top squad, which is made entirely of Ange, is one of the best out there. Its over for him. He’s terrible cooked.

should have chosen Tottenham, Plymouth because they don’t get as many clicks as Arsenal, so the temptation to write rage hate isn’t there, but for a team to spend so much money on attacking talent ( and continue to be that boring is a real feat.

At least no one was stupid enough to write in to the Mailbox after 10 games or so to use Enzo Maresca as a stick to beat the guy who continues to outperform a heroically expensive and frankly mediocre outfit.
