England is not the first club to publicly apologise for referees, but the response to Arne Slots dark demonstrated how eager fans are to choose a Mourinho-like siege-mentality.

The Arsenal/Liverpool narrative
As it has now been quoted in several articles, I get the impression that F365 is particularly enthralled by the new claim that Arsenal fans are extra upset about losing to Liverpool because Liverpool is a proper club and a better Arsenal than Arsenal. I would like to make three points on this :
1. I am just one aghast Fleet fan, but I’d much rather lose to Liverpool than City if we don’t win the title. For me this has less to do with any of these great stories than it does with City having, you know, won quite a lot lately.
2. I know it drives keystrokes, but I really hope youd write fewer reports about the most unpleasant supporters and their agonizing conversation to be found on social media. These followers obviously exist, but I won’t deny that! For gods sake P**rs M*rg*n exists. Just to be clear, this is a very common activity, and I’d wager that most Squad fans are just regular people who care about it and are aware that they are a wealthy club that spends a lot of money, not a bunch of crooked crusaders.
I do openly like The Arsenal though, and I think there are a great numerous reasons to love this team. For instance, your relatives may have loved Arsenal and you may always have. Maybe you have time cards and feel kinship with the group. Bukayo Saka appears to be really a good person. Maybe you were trying to impress that adorable boy from North London you had a crush on in 2013 and even though he turned out to be extremely bisexual, what were you really going to do at that point? Transfer your Mesut Ozil t-shirt Rarely.
Anyway, I’ve been distracted, but I think my point is that most regular Arsenal supporters would agree that supporting The Arsenal is unquestionably not a compelling reason. I suggest we quickly switch to the European model and have 19 publicly owned groups and then one owned by British Petroleum for some reason. Chelsea might be that.
3. I’d love to give Liverpool’s personality record, but I don’t believe I can. While they have had to retool a little over the years, as team do, its hard to ignore that Salah, Alisson and VVD were racking up 90+ place months ago when we were the mid-table group of Aubameyang ( talking of which, is he accessible? I believe that Arsenal and Liverpool supporters does share a common goal in this regard.

Everton perspective
I wanted to wait at least 12 days before weighing in as well as seeing the obvious kneejerk reaction from the followers. It goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyhow.  , Sports supporters see what they WANT to view when it comes to their staff or a match their playing in. We are all one.  , Every. One. Fan. I actually understand where the Liverpool supporters are
.  , Dont agree with it but I understand it. Why ?  , Because Ive seen names or non-calls of the exact same character move against my team Everton. I could go on and on about a long list of calls that I personally thought were not only wrong but corrupt, dirty, biased, etc. ( I’ve written in F365 several times about them, remember ) You dont? But hey. )
As for the match itself, I felt it was an entertaining game although the neutrals might not agree. There were a number of names that should have been made for either group, but they didn’t.  , I personally felt that had Gana held on to the person next to him a much longer than he did, he definitely warranted a second bright and should have been sent off. But for every call that came in, there were names that didn’t get the way of Evertons.  , Diaz deciding earlier in the suit that he wasnt going to challenge a folder, but rather, only right barge into the contesting player half in the first ten minutes. Should he have received a golden card, if applicable?  , Well, but he wasnt.
I thought a pull was a good result for both venues.  , Everton played well enough to maybe guy it but didnt and had we done so, probably wouldnt had deserved it. England weren’t at their best, but if they had lost the game based on the balance of play, hands levels, etc., people mentioned Kavanaugh on VAR and how they knew LFC may be railroaded by him before the bell blew.  , Request Evertonians about Kavanaugh on Som next time you run into one. Although Oliver didn’t hide his glory, 1 ) The derby is always a difficult match officiated, and 2 ) Bad calls were made for or against both teams, like 99 % of Premier League games.
Ive even read a lot about ugly Everton. We’ve been called many things, but not filthy, at least not on a regular basis.  , Does anyone else believe were a filthy group? Truly curious,.  , Im convinced I saw quite a few tackles from a team in purple that were delayed, sarcastic, etc but I wouldnt call ugly, nor do I call Liverpool a filthy team on the whole.
Lastly, I’m completely offended by Everton’s celebration at the end as an issue as if any team hadn’t celebrated an equalizer in the match’s 97th  minute against their archrival.  , Is any red going to tell me they wouldnt have celebrated the same against little ole Everton, or City, Arsenal, or United if the roles were reversed? Please make sure to do it with a straight face when you do it.  , Should Doucoure, whos done almost nothing of note this season for us, gone over and taunted the away supporters. I’m not sure if he did it, but he probably did, and, for the record, I don’t care if Curtis Jones disagrees with it.  , Both deserved red cards in the end and received them. I’m sure the lip readers on this site will understand what Slot said to Oliver to trigger an immediate red card.  , Was the card justified? Was Oliver’s response an overreaction?  , I havent a clue.
Perhaps Liverpool supporters should take a deep breath before going off the rails about a game, maybe take 12 hours like I have, and take a breath for it now.

MORE MERSEYSIDE DERBY REACTION FROM F365
, Liverpool fan head-loss as truth is their team was rubbish, dirty and cynical
, Slot failed and Artetad after Moyes out-coached him and exposed third-rate Van Dijk
Now nearly everyones mostly calmed down Im still left with a question: how did Liverpool fall for the same through-ball-to-Beto trick that Leicester did?
Actually, there is another one: will it evolve into a Gen Z version of the Anderton-Sheringham corner routine, which, despite repeated attempts, caught everyone off guard?

Hes just the worst
Michael Oliver turned up to the Merseyside derby wearing a red shirt, how else do you explain Liverpool committing 20 fouls and getting 2 yellow cards whilst Everton collected 3 from 9 fouls. How else can you explain that Michael Oliver, who only conceded nine free kicks against Liverpool and nine against Everton, showed up for the Merseyside derby wearing a blue shirt?
Michael Oliver turned up to the Merseyside derby wearing a big grin and wondering how he could make the game all about him. He recognized the problem.

Respect for refs has gone backwards
I know the PGMOL have far from covered themselves in glory of late, but it feels like not that long ago when the idea of cracking down on dissent towards referees was roundly applauded. Players and managers were frequently accused of creating a bad culture of match official abuse that was echoed prominently at the local level.
Now a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. VAR was intended to play a crucial role in the ref’s favor, placating angry fans by allowing for a second chance to see injustice corrected. I think its fair to say that has gone badly. Due to higher expectations and poor execution, we are not happier with our refereeing decisions. There has likely never been more heat on the PGMOL, a lot of it self-inflicted.
Regardless of how you slice the blame, I believe any progress has been made in the direction of a more civilized society. Reading the mailbox defence of Arne Slot and his assistant for his sarcastic berating of Oliver is evidence enough. This is not having a pop at Slot or any particular manager,
. Pep, Arteta and the rest have given out similar in the recent past. Fans seem to be more eager than ever to accept a Mourinho-like siege-mentality in which certain club concepts are embraced and stoked up.
The PGMOL, VAR etc needs serious reform for sure but we need to stop defending managers acting like Slot did after the matchsimply because he didnt get the decisions he wanted. Who would today be a ref?

Mood swings
I enjoyed Tickners exhaustive ( and exhausting )   ,analysis of Premier League club moodsbut I have some notes. Chelsea, wow, they probably deserve a little more praise,
. Ive looked at their form table across a few intervals, and its weirdly incoherent. However, they possess such a wealth of talent that a few players with stronger interpersonal skills could start generating regular victories. Like all decent folk, I hope not, but I can see reasons for optimism there. Everton should have a little higher hearts,
. Id imagine that season-ticket holders are feeling confident of survival and looking forward to , improved , seating in the new ground. The Toffees will only become mug and amused if the draw-cum-victory in the final Goodison Park derby had an edge of injustice. Theres also something Avalonian about Moyes return. It maintains the natural order.
Insofar as Tickners argument in re: Arsenal is fairly aimed and I think it is Arsenal ought to be a good deal lower. However, I do notice some mitigating factors. The plurality of my EPL-supporting friends on either continent are Gunners, and their reactions reflect a despondency toward this season, but not toward the club or squads future.
During the Premier League era, Arsenal have never been expected to be a dominant force. Thus, expectations have never really reached the level of entitlement. Failure is not a chance at winning the title or the Champions League each year. Which is why I disagree with Tickner that things are never fine with Arsenal. They continued to perform well until the end, but they could have gone back to working for Unai Emery, which is how they are now. I figure 8h , or 9th , place. Unfortunately, I believe you have rated the mood among Newcastle supporters to be excessive. Were aware of our occasional fragility, so while the Carabao Cup is a magnificent opportunity, I think it will take a magnificent performance to win it. Although it is true that a number of threatening sides have already been eliminated, there is still a clear path to a trophy in the FA Cup. And the league is a daunting prospect. Newcastle United’s upcoming matches are a crucial time, tickners are absolutely correct. If we come through it, then well deserve that# 1 slot.

All you need is hate
[[19]All the reasons people complain about despising various clubs are a little tedious.  , As a neutral, here are the real reasons for hating all of the big clubs in the Premier League.
Manchester City have a league win-loss record when they face Colchester United. This is definitely the worst thing theyve ever done. Without Alan Sugar’s media presence during his time as chairman, there would have been no The Apprentice, as I wrote about iton this very website. Therefore Spurs are responsible for Katie Hopkins. Wenger was completely broken by Arsenal at the end, and he is now trying to ruin the game.

A reachable Afcon
Lionel, Robert, Antoine, Jamie and of course Cristiano are all good reasons for the suits at Liverpool to reach an agreement with Mo Salah. No pun intended, but for the team’s mojo as well as the value of his goals and assists.
Salah is an invaluable talisman and the only downside seems to be that African Nations Cup hangover which I believe is ferry-able from Malaga this December by the way.
Much more than Harry Kane, for example, where Mo Salah passes away at the age of 35 or 36, and his passing is foreshadowed.
I also notice that he rarely attracts hateful comments from opposing fans a little like Bukayo who, sadly I cannot see making it to 35, 36. The Greatest League In The World
